Wedding Reception Food Ideas That Stretch Your Budget : How To Self-Cater Fancy Appetizers

Wedding reception foods do not have to be expensive. The ideas for stretching a small wedding budget are as unlimited as the imagination!

Any bride can have fancy appetizers at her wedding reception.

So what is the secret?

Wedding Reception Food Ideas That Stretch Your Budget : How To Self-Cater Fancy Appetizers

How can a bride with a tiny budget have fancy appetizers? The secret to having fancy appetizers on a small budget can be found in the freezer of a smart, budget-conscious bride months before her wedding day.

By starting months in advance and devoting one morning, afternoon, or evening a week to baking freezable appetizers, the budget-conscious bride can amass a delicious collection of appetizers for her wedding reception.

Delicious savory spanokopita, tiropita, miniature quiches, bruschetta, baby crab cakes, tea breads, mexican wedding cakes... the list is unlimited!

Yes, you truly can have the food you want at your wedding reception! If you are willing to think outside the box, tie an apron on yourself once a week in the months preceding your wedding day, and ask for some help from family and friends you will be able to have the food you want at your wedding reception.

Having the dream wedding foods you want at your wedding reception is not something that is only available to some brides! Every bride can indeed have a wedding menu that delights the taste buds.

Maybe you are thinking "I want lobster or surf and turf." And you are thinking there is no way that you can afford lobster and filet mignon.

I ran into this situation hundreds and hundreds of times as a caterer. I can tell you that every single time I was able to come up with a creative and affordable solution that fit the bride's budget.

Even though the wedding reception budget did not allow for lobster tails for each guest, it did allow for a delicious lobster sauce to be served with a more economical, yet delicious dish. While the wedding reception budget did not allow for 8 oz. of filet mignon for each guest, perhaps it allowed for a delightful appetizer that incorporated a tender beef morsel into a flaky phyllo pastry. Again, I want to reiterate that the creative solutions for your wedding reception are truly unlimited. If you are willing to think outside the box, tie on an apron once a week, and ask for help - the solutions will be provided to you.

How to Do Great Teleseminars - 5 Teleseminar Mistakes to Avoid

If you've listened to lots of teleseminars you'll notice that there can be a marked difference in the quality of teleseminars. There are definitely some dos and don'ts when it come to hosting teleseminars.

So here are 5 teleseminar mistakes to avoid if you want to host a great teleseminar:

1. Using a cordless or mobile phone

How to Do Great Teleseminars - 5 Teleseminar Mistakes to Avoid

The sound quality using a cordless or mobile phone is often poor and unreliable. Sound can fade in and out and there is often static on the line. You want a clear, crisp sound so that those listening to your teleseminar live can hear every word and so you can create a high quality recording.

However, there are times when you a mobile phone may be the only option for you or your guest. If this is the case, apologise to your audience know in advance and let them know that the sound quality may be affected. Your audience will be more understanding as a result.

2. Not starting on time

If you don't start promptly you will come across as unprofessional and disorganised. It will give participants an excuse to call in late and some callers may drop off the line before your event begins. Ensure that you call in early, about 10-15 minutes ahead of the official start time. You can stay muted while you do your final checks.

Also, sometimes you can experience difficulty in connecting to your bridge line and if you experience any such problems calling in early will normally give you sufficient time to resolve any such issues.

3. Staring with Content

While you should start your teleseminar on time, avoid the temptation to dive straight into content. Hosting a teleseminar can be likened to hosting a dinner party. Give your guests time for a little chit chat and introductions so that they to get to know each other and build rapport before serving the main course.

Teleseminars can offer participants the opportunity to self-promote as some hosts will encourage attendees to introduce themselves by saying their name, location and URL. For large teleseminars this can result in exposure to hundreds of potential Joint Venture (JV) partners and or clients and so is much appreciated by those prepared to take advantage of this.

Plus some of your guests are likely to turn up late - it's the nature of the game. Some guests may simply have difficulty in connecting to the bridgeline. So it's a good idea to allow time for latecomers to arrive. In this way your content will reach the widest possible audience and those who arrive early get the opportunity for a little self-promotion.

For a 60 minute teleseminar allow 5-10 minutes before starting your main menu. This also allows those who may not have heard you present a teleseminar before to get to know you.

4. No "Call-to-Action" website

Maximise the impact of your teleseminar by getting your attendees to take action. You can only deliver so much content in an hour. So you want to direct them to a website or provide the link to a download where they can continue to learn about your product or service.

During a teleseminar you have to encourage people to take action. Now some people are averse to selling and that's another discussion. However, the short of it is that if you believe in your product or service and the value it will give others then you should feel comfortable about promoting it. And the better you are at promoting the more money you'll make from teleseminars.

5. Not following your study guide

A study guide provides structure for your teleseminar. Ideally, it lets participants know what to expect from your teleseminar and it helps participants to get the most out of your event. This is because the study guide will help to activate your brain's Reticular Activating System, i.e. it tells your brain what to listen out so that you can complete the study guide. If you don't follow the study guide your listeners become confused and irritated and they don't get as much as they could and should out of your event.

And, the more value your participants can get from your teleseminar the more likely they will keep coming back for more and buy your products and services.

How Technology Improvements in Technology Can Improve Your Teleseminars

Teleseminar or teleconference calls are often a mixed bag of misadventures. Teleseminar service technology in most cases doesn't solve many of these situations and that can ruin the quality of the teleseminar and the host's ability to create a quality digital product from it. However, new technology is coming out that provides a workaround for many of the issues that frequently plague these calls. Read on for some of the ways in which you can use new technologies to create a flawless teleseminar.

1. A simple and easy way to interact with guests

There should be a way to interact with guest that is very easy and simple. The technology should let the teleseminar moderator individually control which participant can talk when they have a question or comment. This means allowing those listeners who want to ask questions to be unmuted on a per listener basis. The kind of technology that would have this functionality would be a "raised hand" feature where the moderator would know those participants that want to ask a question to signal the host. This way, the moderator would know which specific caller to unmute so the caller can ask their question, and keep all the other callers on mute to avoid unwanted noise from the other callers.

How Technology Improvements in Technology Can Improve Your Teleseminars

2. Ability to adjust individual microphone volume

Have you ever been on a call where one presenter has a low volume that you can just barely hear, while another presenter has a very high volume? It is very distracting for the participants on the call because they are constantly getting switched from hard-to-hear to way-too-loud. A great feature that would eliminate this problem, and allow for a smooth call, would be for the moderator to be able to control the individual volumes of the presenters and guests. Technology has come far enough to where the moderator can actually adjust the output volume of individual members on the call.

3. Ability to call hosts missing from the teleconference

If there are multiple hosts or presenters participating in the teleconference call, the probability that one of the hosts or presenters missing in action increases dramatically. The current technology forces the moderator to use a second line to track down the missing presenter. If the moderator has no other line to use, they have to hang up to track down the missing presenter, and then hope they can call back in again if the teleclass is full. If they are using a service that disconnects all of the guests if the moderator hangs up, then the moderator has to wait and hope the missing presenter remembers to call in, or send them a flurry of frantic emails.

A solution to this problem would be to have a "dial-out" feature with your teleconferencing service. This would allow the moderator to directly call the missing presenter directly from the teleseminar hosting service and that way they don't ever have to leave the teleconference call.

The quality of your teleconference depends greatly on the teleseminar service you use. Until recently, the technology wasn't able to overcome many of the common problems that frequently crop up during the teleseminar. The most helpful part is to know the service providers that can solve these issues and not break the bank. There are very few services that are currently available which are also affordable AND solve most of the technological issues that can often plague a teleclass.

TeleSeminar Secret Tip - All You Really Need is a Mouth, a Message and a Mouse to Do TeleSeminars

Teleseminars are the best way to extend your reach and get your marketing message to the masses. You can do so without having technical knowledge, without buying any new equipment, without traveling, and you do now even need to have a good hair day.

All you need to get started are these three things: a message, a mouth, and a mouse. Let's take a closer look at these three requirements to get started with teleseminars:

A message: Here is the question you must answer for yourself and your potential audience: Do you have a message inside of you that can help other people? Then my belief is that not only do you have a right to get it out there to the world, you have an obligation to get your message out there to the world. This is one of the beauties of teleseminars, the chance to reach more people, extend your reach and get your unique message out to the world.

TeleSeminar Secret Tip - All You Really Need is a Mouth, a Message and a Mouse to Do TeleSeminars

And to those of you who are thinking right now that "there are just so many people already in my niche" I'll say this - no one else will be able to say it like you can.

A mouth: Can you speak out loud? Do you speak to your current clients? Do you speak to your family members and friends? Then you can do this. You do not need to be a great speaker and memorize what you are going to say. No one is looking at you and you can use your notes.

Some people tell me that what holds them back is they do not like the sound of their own voice. So? Get started anyway. You can improve as you go along. Having a unique sounding voice can be an advantage, not a disadvantage.

A mouse: You do not need web programming or other technical skills to do teleseminars. If you have the computer skills to send and receive emails, you can get started with teleseminars.

TeleSeminar Secret Tip - All You Really Need is a Mouth, a Message and a Mouse to Do TeleSeminars

Hardwood Floor Refinishing - Do It Yourself Tips

If you're lucky enough to find hardwood floors hiding under your tired carpeting, you might feel like covering the wood back up. That's understandable because refinishing the floors yourself seems like an impossible task.Hardwood floors were a common feature in houses until the 1960s. Before that, having wall-to-wall carpet was considered a luxury upgrade. From the 1970s on, most homes had wall-to-wall carpet in nearly every room. However, tastes change, and over the last couple decades, hardwood floors have once again become fashionable and desirable. Oftentimes, when I'm talking with someone about fixing houses, they ask if refinishing hardwood floors is something they can do themselves. Unless the person has a physical reason why they can't do it, I generally say yes. However, I also remind them that redoing hardwood floors takes a great deal of time, sweat, and elbow grease. As a general rule, floors of fifty square feet or less can be sanded by hand, but for any floor larger than that, rent or buy a small orbital sander. Everything necessary for doing it yourself will be available at your local hardware store. You can buy a pretty good electric sander nowadays for less than 0, which can be a good investment, especially if you're planning to work on your home on a regular basis. The first layer to be removed is often a thick wax coating, followed by a coat of either polyurethane or varnish. A heavy duty commercial wax stripper can remove the wax, and then a lacquer thinner or acetone can be wiped on to prepare the wood for the next step. If there are any carpet tacks or pieces of old nails in the wood, remove them first. The remnant of a nail can tear up sandpaper, damage a sanding pad, and do serious damage to the palm of your hand, so check carefully to make sure all remnants of tacks and nails are gone before you begin sanding. Fill all nail holes with a quality wood filler, matching the color as closely as you can, and let it dry. Then you're ready to begin sanding the floor with 220-grit sandpaper, whether by hand or with a sander. When you're done sanding, wipe the entire floor with a damp cloth to remove as much sanding dust as possible. Damp cloths work better than vacuum cleaners. Let the floor dry, and then wipe it again with a tack rag, which is a cloth impregnated with resin to pick up fine dust particles. Again, your local hardware store will have what you need. After the floor is as clean as you can get it, apply three coats of polyurethane with a paint pad, allowing each coat to dry thoroughly, lightly sanding with 220-grit paper, and wiping the floor with a damp cloth and a tack rag between coats. If you prefer an old-fashioned finish, you can use a 50/50 mixture of linseed oil and mineral spirits and then wax the floors with beeswax or paste wax. Take caution with the chemical mixture and the rags because they can catch on fire. You can refinish hardwood floors yourself. It just takes time and effort--and a good set of kneepads wouldn't hurt, either! Once you finish, you'll have a gorgeous floor to be proud of and ready for that next "do it yourself" project--perhaps the next room with hardwood floors. Copyright © 2006 Jeanette J. Fisher

Different Types of Unemployment

1. Frictional Unemployment:

· This is unemployment caused by people moving in between jobs, e.g. graduates or people changing jobs. There will always be some frictional unemployment.

Economics

· Also high benefits may encourage people to stay on benefits rather than get work this is sometimes known as "voluntary unemployment"

Different Types of Unemployment

2. Structural Unemployment

This occurs due to a mismatch of skills in the labour market it can be caused by:
a) Occupational immobility's. This refers to the difficulties in learning new skills applicable to a new industry, and technological change.

b) geographical Immobility's. This refers to the difficulty in moving regions to get a job.

c) Technological Change. If there is the developments of labour saving technology in some industries there will be a fall in demand for labour.

d) Structural change in the economy. The decline of the coal mines due to a lack of competitiveness meant that many coal miners were unemployed and they may find it more difficult to get jobs in new industries such as computers

3. Classical or Real Wage Unemployment:

This occurs when wages in a competitive labour market are pushed above the equilibrium. This is sometimes known as "disequilibrium" unemployment. Wages will also be sticky downwards. This could be caused by minimum wages, or trades unions

4. Demand Deficient or "Cyclical Unemployment"

This occurs when the economy is below full capacity. E.g. in a recession when AD falls there will be a fall in output, therefore firms will employ less workers because they are producing less goods.

5. Seasonal Unemployment

Unemployment tends to be higher during certain times of the year, either in summer or winter depending on the country. The UK government actually produce a seasonally adjusted unemployment figure to take this into account.
